I started this company after working on wildfire deployments across Alberta as a firefighter. That experience taught me the importance of preparation, follow-through, and taking pride in every task—values I’ve carried into this business from day one.

This photo was taken during a fire competition—one of those days where the heat, the pressure, and the laughs all hit equally hard. We trained hard, we pushed each other, and we always had each other's backs. One of the men in this photo is no longer with us, but anyone who knew him will tell you—he never once showed up with anything less than full heart.
He was the kind of person who made long shifts feel short. Always cracking jokes, always lightening the mood, always the first one to grab gear or jump in to help—no matter the task. He worked hard, never complained, and led by example without even trying. Right to the end, he was someone we all looked up to.
I carry his memory with me in everything I do. Acres Lawncare isn’t just a business—it’s a reflection of those fire-line values: show up early, give your best, and make sure the people around you are taken care of. This company is built on the kind of spirit he lived by—service, pride, and loyalty that doesn’t quit.
